Mr. Thompson died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 1982, in Doctor's Hospital in Harrisburg. He was a retired miner, a member of the United Mine Workers, and a member of the Little Chapel Church.

He was born June 14, 1899, in Eldorado, to George and Cora Durham Thompson. He married Marie Shelton, who died in 1963. He later married Ethel Cotter Lasswell, who survives. Other survivors inicude two sons, Arthur Phillip Thompson of Pawnee and James Fred Thompson of Gibson City; one daughter, Gladys Hatcher of Godfrey; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Mr.

Mr. Montgomery was a retired signalman for the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Milford and the Elks and Moose lodges, both of West Frankfort. Du Quoin Jerome A. Jablonski, 21, of Route 3, Nashville, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, illegal transportation of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, after his car was searched by Du Quoin police at 1:42 a.m. Sunday. Police said they searched the car after seeing someone throw a beer can out of it while it was parked in an alley on the 600 block of South Washington Street. Police found about 3.5 pounds of purported marijuana.

SWAT team arrests shooting 1 suspect in Springfield hotel SPRINGFIELD (AP) An Ohio man was charged in the shooting death of a Huntington, W. police officer after an FBI SWAT team and West Virginia police raided a Springfield hotel, authorities said. Robert B. Davenport, agent in charge of the Springfield FBI office, said Bobby Dean Stacy, 30, of Columbus, Ohio, was arrested without incident late Sunday night after officers surrounded the Little Chum's Lodge.

An FBI SWAT team, two West Virginia and Sangamon County, officers raided the lodge and arrested Stacy after evacuating the building, Davenport said. Sgt. Chester police said city resident Kenneth Moore turned in the large dog Saturday. Young David Hoffman who was to have started taking the series of rabies treatments today -now will not have to take the shots unless signs of rabies show up in the dog, police said. Macieiski said the dog now is in the custody of the county animal control warden and will be turned over to a veterinarian for quarantine today. The dog bit the child about a week ago, officials said.

Chester residents and officials have been searching for the dog since then, to spare the boy from undergoing the rabies vaccine series if possible.
