Survivors: his wife, the former Elizabeth Nears; sons James Charles Edwin George M. and Thomas New Albany man killed when car hits guardrail The Courier-Journal A New Albany man was killed early yesterday when his car ran off Interstate 65 and hit a guardrail near the Stansifer Avenue exit in Clarksville, state police said. Ronnie Landrum, 39, who suffered massive head and neck injuries, was pronounced dead at the University of Louisville Hospital, Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Sam Weakley said.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Marvin Jenkins said Landrum, who was alone in his vehicle, was southbound on I-65 around a.m. when he lost control of his Pontiac Fiero and ran off the right side of the road, hitting the guardrail. Landrum was a machine operator for F-K Corp. in New Albany.

Survivors include brothers Mike, Larry and Bobby Landrum and sisters Shirley Landrum, Loretta Klingsmith, Marilyn Thomas, Carolyn Sue Faulkenburg and Mary Gresham. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Paul V. Shrader Funeral Home in New Albany. The burial will be private.

Caryl Wayne Korfhage, 40, of the 8100 block of Latania Drive in Pleasure Ridge Park, is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Jefferson Circuit Court on charges of firstdegree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree possession of a controlled substance. Korfhage was a respiratory therapist at Jewish Hospital but resigned last week, hospital spokeswoman Linda McGinity Jackson said yesterday. Police said a search of Korfhage's home on June 29 revealed several sedative and memory-suppressive drugs, sexually explicit videos dozens of women, used syringes, child p*rnography and a camera behind a two-way mirror over his bedroom closet. Police held a press conference the next day seeking information from the public or women who may have dated Korfhage or thought they were victimized by him.

Police said they got least a half-dozen responses. Korfhage's lawyer, Bart Adams, said Korfhage told him that he had had sex with the woman in the June 27 incident several times previously. Adams said Korfhage also said that sex with her and the other women in the videos was always consensual, not forced. Adams, who was reached in St. Louis yesterday, said he learned Tuesday that tests performed on the woman shortly after Korfhage's arrest found none drugs police say they found at Korfhage's home.

Korfhage is being held in jail in lieu of a $75,000 full -cash bond..
